Welcome to my blog

Diary of a working mum is going to be my outlet, my place to vent and rant and share the fun life I lead. By fun I mean tiring, busy, crazy but yes fun!

I am a 34-year-old working Mum. My two boys are five and three and gorgeous. They are seriously full of life, their energy knows no bounds where-as mine tends to run out by about 330pm each day!! I have a brilliant husband and a 15-week old black Labrador to look after as well....oh and an unsocialble hamster who is actually quite easy to look after so I'm sure I won't be ranting about her too much!

I run my own freelance PR business with the support of a friend and colleague in an unofficial partnership - basically we get excited together when things are going well, rant at each other when they aren't  and enjoy copious amounts of Pinot Grigio together whenever we get the chance!!

So today is Saturday and it's been a good one - the house doesn't look too much like a bomb's hit it. We have had a brilliant family walk in the park, the boys fished and caught crayfish, the puppy didn't run away and we all got home in one piece. Gabriel (my incredibly funny 3 year old) did have to walk through the park in his t-shirt and camouflage boxer shorts because he decided he could "swim" in the stream but all in all not a bad day out.

I've even managed not to check my emails all day.......well okay I checked them first thing this morning just in case a PR crisis happened overnight (unlikely as my clients are not celebrities or controversial at all!) but it's a bit of an addiction. I've managed to wean myself off having my Iphone charging by my bed.....note to self, insomnia is not helped by having an Iphone within reaching distance at 3am!

I hope this blog will be a fun read, some days may be boring but actually I live for boring days where there is no crisis, no use of the naughty step, no puppy escaping into the next door neighbours garden and eating the contents on their lovingly grown vegetable patch.

65 minutes until wine-o'clock and our weekly viewing of "101 ways to leave a gameshow"- the kids (and husband, he's an even bigger kid) love watching the soaking of saddos who enter these things and I ogle Steve Jones!!!

Saturday nights are just so rock 'n roll
